This course taught me the how and why of using technology.  I learned that incorporating technology for the sake of technology is not the overall goal of the program.  The content needs to be meaningful and connected to state standards.

Teaching for Understanding with Technology

This course was a reintroduction to technology.  I learned the basics of Google Drive along with exploring other technologies such as, Blogger and Phet.

Teaching Students Online

This course took the idea of why are we using technology to a deeper leavel.  We covered looked indepth to the research that has been completed and the effectivness of using technology.  We learned some of the basics of creating screencasts and podcasts as well.  

Applying Educational Technology to Issues of Practice

Instructors: C. MARCOTTE, E. STONE, L. WOLF

I created my own learning management system in this course and also incorporated it into my classroom.  Students had the opprotunity to learn at their own pace and ask questions along the way.  It was a learning experience for both of us.

This section of the summer cohort was dedicated to implications of technology intergration.  We discussed the idea that students have more knowledge available to them at their fingertips than we could ever learn in several lifetimes.

This first part of the summer cohort was focused on the learning that takes place within a classroom.  It focuses on how students learn and ways that educators need to relate to their material to students for the most effective teaching methods.

This section of the summer cohort was dedicated to educational research and analyzing of that research.  We analyzed they way people think about their knowledge.

This was that capstone course of my MAET program where I brought all of my experiences together in one place.  They helped me focus on the important aspect of my education and where I can implement my learning the most to help students.
