My Dream IT project is based around the idea of students’ conceptual understanding of physics.  Specifically, in the units of centripetal force and acceleration.  Currently, my students struggle with grasping the understanding that as an object maintains a circular path, its acceleration is constantly changing.  My students do well with the memorization of material but struggle with the connection of concepts to real-world applications.  This unit is one of the units that they seem to struggle with the most.  The end product is to have students create short-videos together in small groups that explain a specific portion of the unit and how it relates to the real-world.  The incorporation of technology will allow my students to develop more meaningful connections to the ideas and concepts that are related to the field of physics.  With the use of video the students will also have a chance to refine their work and a chance to add other ideas and concepts with the use of other visual aids/video clips.  The students will also be able to use the videos as a review for their unit tests and exams.
